Two worlds, built from scratch

Coral Reef

A living coral reef with its own fish behaviour, currents and sunlight. Clownfish nestle in their anemones, blue tangs and moorish idols drift through the kelp, a lionfish patrols the rocks, a manta ray glides overhead and a school of silver fish wheels past.

The soundscape is the reef's own: deep swell, moving water, bubbles and the crackle of snapping shrimp.

Enchanted Castle

A castle in an enchanted forest, followed through a whole day, from before dawn into a magical night. A river runs past to the waterfall, the bell rings on the hour, carts pass on the road, owls call after dark, and now and then a dragon flies over.

Nothing loops.

Every scene is a real-time 3D world built from scratch by Greenfield Studio. The picture and the ambient sound are generated as the film runs, so you never see or hear the same moment twice.

Each film is recorded one frame at a time: the world steps forward exactly one frame, the graphics card encodes it in 4K, and only then does the next one begin. However long a frame takes to draw, nothing stutters, so an hour of film plays as smoothly as the first second.
